Safety

Safety is of paramount importance – do not sacrifice safety for speed.

If you are cycling, please ensure that your bicycle is roadworthy.

Cyclists are strongly recommended to wear a helmet and reflective clothing, and to lock their cycles when leaving them unattended.

Please obey the Highway Code when walking or cycling on roads (www.gov.uk/browse/driving/highway-code-road-safety), the Countryside Code (www.gov.uk/government/publications/the-countryside-code) and the recommendations of RoSPA (www.rospa.com).

Children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult.  If you are under 18 you must get an adult’s permission to take part.

The event is primarily for cycling, walking and running.

It is important to note that anyone using a motor vehicle must ensure that their own motor insurers know what they are doing and must have confirmation that their own motor insurance provides cover.

Horse riders must ensure their horses are insured.

It is a condition of entry that, save to the extent required by law, the trustees of any local organising organisation accepts no liability in respect of injury sustained by any participant in Ride & Stride.
